New to the forum

I acquired a Red Spectacled Parrot from AZ Exotic Pet Rescue, his name is Elliot. He is about 28-30, and bit his companion really badly.

He has bit me a couple of times in the beginning, but, nothing major, and these days if I am polite and respectful he goes out of his way to not bite me. I had a cockatiel once before, but it was really a family pet for my son, so this is really my first parrot. I adore Elliot. I try to just respect his personality and space as I have little experience and he is an adult male bird who lost his home.

I have had him since May, and we are doing well. His feathers have grown back, and he is a great companion. He says his name, and I am teaching him I love you.

I am in contact with his previous home, and I have really liked talking to him. He is supportive and I know he still cares for Elliot.

Welcome to the forums! Elliot sounds wonderful, it's really nice when the former owners are helpful and supportive, it makes the transition much easier for the bird. We'd love to see photos of Elliot.
