Sengal Parrot
Hi, we recently purchased a senegal parrot from CL, back in june. and we can't seem to find out where he/she came from. we believe its a male from all we've read up on him, colors n patterns. but the person we bought him from said he is about 4 yrs old. i've read up on how long they usually live and i've looked up all sorts of identifaction sites but nobody has any info on how to actually track down where its from to just type the code in and let the computer track it, every darn site starts off banding was started back in such n such, or says how to read it but none show examples or where to actually look it up. if anyone could help that'd be great. we love the bird n its very loveable to us, (it wasn't in the beginning of course lol).

Welcome to the world of Sennies; I too went thru the trial of finding out anything from the leg band (long and short of it is they are useless) and found out that Micro-chipping is the best way so that you and your bird can be assured that valuable information such as your name and his/her name your vets name your birds medical history all of this and more can be stored with with micro-chipping. Look into this with your vet and as for gender DNA can be had for as little as $29.00 us. at least thats what it cost here.
