Green cheek conure "squeakers"

My names mariah I currently have 3 birds an 8 month old sun conure names Akiro, a 2 year old indian ring male named Oliver, and another two year old indian ringneck female named kiwi.

I got the two ringnecks about two and a half months ago, I had found them on Craigslist and was shocked when the owner told me they were only 50 for them and their cage. I had went and got them immediately. When I had gotten to her house I had realized why they were that price they were in such a small cage barley enough room for one of them. The male had a large bleeding cut on his head, it covered the whole top of his head. The lady said it was from the female attacking him. As soon as I saw them I knew I had to take them home. To make it worse she had never handled them because she didn't like them and they bit her. As soon as she said that I took them, she then gave me two other birds which were also in horrible care, they were a zebra finch and a parrotlet, these had both gone to my grandma in much better care now. I also figured she would want to know how they were doing so I asked if she wanted updates on them she quickly said no she wanted nothing to do with them and we quickly left. As soon as we got them home we took them out and were completely opposite of what she said they have and still are the sweetest ringnecks I have ever owned . She also never gave them names.
What makes this story worse is she told us she had 5 greys and a few macaws :confused: I never saw them so I have no idea what condition they were in, I wish I could have taken those ones too:(

That is such a sad story :( I'm glad it had a happy ending for a couple of the birds. Parrots are smart, they must have known that lady wasn't kind and bit her because of that.

Thank you, I also forgot to add the male who had the large cut on his head is doing a lot better he's starting to get feathers back and it's all healed, ill try to get a picture but he doesn't really like cameras
And I really do think they knew as soon as we got them they weren't anything like she had said

I wish she would have given up her other birds I can't imagine what the poor macaws and greys look like if the ones I got were so bad :/

Hi I hope someone can help me, I just adopted a 4 yr old African Grey, I cant get her out of the temp cage I brought her home in! I need to get her in her new cage! But I cant get her to step up, and I dont wont to force her or have her bite me. I have the smaller cage door open and put it against the new cage--but she will not come out of her temp cage.

What should I do??

She's probably just scared or trying to get used to her new home. I know a lot of birds have trouble changing cages. In my opinion I would let her do it on her own once she gets comfortable just leave the temp cage open. There may be a better way but that's what I would do :)

Hi Mariah, and welcome to the forum. :) THANK YOU for taking in those babies in need!!! Some people really should not be allowed to have ANY animals.
