How is everyone, I have been lingering here the last couple weeks for I was in the process of adopting a CAG.

My girlfriend and I got "Tyler" from her aunt and she had him for 17 years. We visited him a couple times to make sure he would take to us. Well by the third visit he decided that I would make a good mate and trys to hump my hand. If he's on my leg he's fine, its only when he's on my arm that he squats down lowers his wings and starts wagging his butt back and forth. He will even be in his cage looking at me doing it to his perch.

Is there anything I can do other then to just ignore this behavior. It is literally every time he is on my hand, or arm. Bare skin or covered.

Congratulations on your new feathered friend.....

Bet you never thought you'd be able to add new qualification to your resume ! ! !

To answer your question, no magic remedy, but there is a bright side, it will probably only last another month or two.....this is the season & you can probably mark your calendar for about 5 months down the road, for the next season's beginning.....the seasons run about 6mo apart, but you don't know when his current interest began.

While it won't be over 'til it's over, just keep telling him no & moving him off your arm, put him back in his cage or if he's not so enamored by your GF, have her do more handling of him.....but in the mean time, no body petting/stroking, as little handling as possible & if he's insistent on physical contact, head scritches only.....he'll return to normal.....in a while!

Welcome to the forum. Maybe you should think of naming him Lovebug:D
