Hello!
I have received a beautiful male Sun Conure from a very wonderful man who did no thave the time for him.(pictures coming soon) His name is Crush and he is very sweet when you get to know him. As a conure, he is very nippy, and will bite if you try to make him step up or pet him when he doesn't want to be bothered. He still will not let me pet him yet, but he will step on to my shoulder, step down, cat call, and preen my hair. He also does some other strange things. He loves to stick his beak right up my nose and have some lunch. If I turn away, he crawls areound my shirt to get to my nose. He also gives kisses, and tries to scrape your teeth and gums. It is very silly to feel, but he enjoys it. I fear that human bacteria in my mouth/nose will harm him though. Is that something I should be worried about or am I being over cautious? I would love to have more conures, and my mom even says she would like to get a couple more too!
On a sadder note, I must rehome my Blue and Gold Macaw. She is not getting any better about biting, screaming, or stepping up. I spend as much time with her as possible, but even 24 hours would not be enough for her. She needs someone who is home a big chunk of the day to take care of her. I am very upset by this, but she deserves a better home than I can offer.
