I'm going to try teaching Fred to sing a new song. He does "How much is that Doggie in the Window", now, but it is horrible and tuneless. I'm hoping that it's because the previous owners couldn't sing??? Any suggestions on a song that I won't mind singing and hearing over and over?

how about... i know a song that will get on your nerves? lol sorry i couldnt resist :D

"Moon River" was one of Gandalf's favorites.....(thanks a lot, Mom ;)).

I would avoid " 29 bottles of beer on the wall" ... How about "how much is that birdie in the window? " sorry Von

Sharon you bet me to it I was just about to make a thread asking what songs ( modified or not ) people sing to their birds

Have you heard of the Quaker song

very short and easy to learn

( Freddie o Freddie o I love you , yes I do )

You get the idea

I have a cd of childrens songs for parrots. The phonix series. There are several songs on it and I play it over and over again. Rosie has now learned to pick the song she likes the best and for us it has been I'm a Little Tea Pot and she loves the last line of tip me over and pour me out. She adds some very cute little bird tweets.

Thanks

My husband wants to teach Ruby to whistle Sweet Georgia Brown and my son wants to teach her Minnie the Moocher. She's learned about half of the Andy Griffith Show theme

That's great! You shoud do a video...

I've tried him with Henry the Eight...He enjoys it, but sings along with nonsense words, as he always does when I sing to him.
I tried him with Amazing Grace...he's spellbound, watches me and listens intently.
