New QP owner

So I'm a new bird owner. I got my two gm year old Quaker parrot on Friday we have this love hate relationship. She/he loves me then hates me. She screams at me to pick her up she steps up on command and then walks to my shoulder but she'll sit for awhile and I talk to her feed her carrots or apples she will be there then starts to nibble on my glasses and shirt then chomps on me please tell me the biting will stop

There are several folks here with Quakers who I'm sure will hop on to help.
Since you have only had her a few days, she still needs time to settle in. My advice would be to take it slow and earn her trust

Welcome to the forum! Congratulations, quakers are amazing parrots, but I may be a little biased.

Quakers, especially adults may take a few weeks to adapt to their new surroundings. Quakers tend to approach everything beak first, nibbling at your glasses, clothing, hair, eyelashes, jewelry, etc. is probably harmless curiosity. The chomping is typical quaker behavior, your quaker is more than likely just warning you to back off a bit and let him/her have a little extra space until he/she gains some confidence and learns to trust you. If the chomping becomes aggressive or frequent, you should immediately return the bird to a stand or cage top after every bite. No drama, just calmly return the bird to a specified location for a short time out, this will teach your bird that biting is not appropriate. After your bird is calm for several minutes, praise him/her and invite him/her back. Quakers love company and attention and usually catch on pretty quickly. Be careful not to react with drama after a bite, like a lot of parrots, quakers will perceive any kind of drama on your part as a positive reward.
