New Problem....

Ok, so now, Bartleby is getting fairly used and comfortable with sitting and perching on my hand and he's starting to warm up. But he trys to get on my shoulder. So far he's succeeded 3 times in getting on my shoulders and it's really hard to get him off. Reason I don't want him on is because he bites hard (like a vise) and I wear hearing aids. I can't having chomping down on those otherwise if they broke, then I wouldn't be able to hear very well. Any training tips to try and keep him off my shoulders? Please and thank you.

What my brother did with Hiroshi when he didn't want him on his shoulder was block him using his hands. Hiroshi would try to climb up his arm and he would use his other hand (you could use a book or something else) and just block him on his way up lol.

If he is prone to biting you must keep him off your shoulders, I have the same problem with Argyle and I know it's not easy when they get into the habit of going on there but you must keep him away from any area near your face and if he does make it onto your shoulders you are going to have to keep removing him until he hets the message, be prepared for this taking a good while though lol. Try putting your hand on the shoulder he's flying to so if he lands on your hand he can be easily removed.

You can (gently) nudge him away and say 'no' when he attempts to go up there. He needs to know his boundaries, and he needs to know who's boss. This method always worked for me when I was training my birds what their boundaries are.
