New Pineapple Conure and Pacing Question

The other week my daughter and I picked up a new bird that had a companion in the cage for the longest time. Both females and conures. We just bought the one girl but she does this pacing back and forth on the cage top chirping away every now and then. We hear her do the same chirping when we shut things down for bed at night and cover her.

Is this something that is a result of being separated from her cage companion? I've thought about getting another bird but not put them together but in the same room. Anyone else experience this?

Not sure, but I've a green cheek conure that recently got new company in the form a gold-capped conure with whom she hangs out pretty much all day, every day. They've become close, and as the GCC is with me at work right now, I can look over and see her pacing, pacing pacing around her travel cage.

If she'd never done that before, I might be somewhat concerned, but well-before the new bird, she used to do the same thing all the time - it's just a way of burning off energy. Eventually she tires, will eat some food, play with her toys, or doze off.
