Hi! I'm very excited to have found this forum. I am adopting a Patagonian Conure next week. He belonged to my former mother-in-law who passed away. No one else seemed able to take him in, so here I am, adopting my first bird! I'm an animal lover, currently mom to three cats. I have never cared for a bird before and have read some books trying to quickly get up to speed. But it's intimidating, especially since I've never seen him, or his cage, or know his diet or what he likes or doesn't lijeetike or anything! All I know is his name is Starbuck, he's 40 and needs a home. I'm sure he'll be very stressed after losing his person and then moving to a strange home. I think he is elderly for his species Andreas want to give him a good home. Any advice would be very welcome and appreciated!
Sorry that was so long, but I'm really nervous about doing the right thing. A little about me. I'm a (semi) retired musician, have one adult daughter, two grandchildren, 3 grand-cats, 3 grand-hermit crabs, 2 grand-fish and a 96-year-old mother (who lives with me.) My daughter, who convinced me to adopt Starbucks, lives very close and will help out.
Thanks for being patient and reading all of this. I'm grateful for any help!
