Hello,
I am new to this forum my wife and I are the proud owner of an African Grey named Norman he is a hoot. Bear with us as this is a new forum that I just stumbled across while looking to purchase macaw.
Thanks for allowing me to join and any help or hints are greatly appreciated.

WELCOME to the site, I hope we can help on all your questions. I've been here a month or two and I've found most questions get a response very expeditiously. Feel free to ask away and feel free to post pictures and stories of your new owner.

Welcome Gary and Lisa, congratulations for Norman as your new companion!

My welcoming PM recently sent contains some helpful links especially if Norman is your first bird! Feel free to peruse the Congo and Timneh Grey forum and ask any questions!

Welcome!
Glad you found us.
The SEARCH tab above is a great source for leisure reading about topics that might interest you. :)

I have two Amazons and one Macaw.

the Amazons are a joy compared to our B&G.

the Macaw is a handful.
(and a ton of work.)

He was given to us by a family that had him for twenty years.
they were thanking their lucky stars the day they met us fools.

I have no idea what they did to him.
He is a sneaky biter and nasty screamer.
at least now he is happy and healthy.
He is endlessly inventive and adventurous but sooooo demanding.

You have to know what you are getting yourselves into.
Have you hung with any Macaws?

Adopting if possible, would be a great option.
Find an adult that likes you all, maybe?
