Keke - nearly 2 yr of age, Vosmaeri
Hi, my name is Shan and I live in Bali. I have recently acquired a female eclectus parrot (Eclectus roratus Vosmaeri). She is 14 months old. She appears to be adapting to her new family and environment. I have joined here to keep updated with ever-evolving information. Thanks.

Thanks! Still learning the forum ropes. Want to make sure I upload any photos of KyKy in the appropriate folder. However, will try here :)

Oh my goodness, she is beautiful! Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to hearing her story and more pictures!

I have to ask though, is that a leg chain on her? We understand that they are still commonly used in some places in the world, but they are extremely dangerous for them. They can cause serious injury of she tries to take off. They are forbidden in most countries for that reason. If it is one, I urge you, please don't use that on her. There are better alternatives.

Oh my she is stunning. I think female ekkies might be the most beautiful birds (except for my Parrotlet of course haha)

Oh my! A real stunner! I have been up close and personal to an elikie only once, she was on my shoulder! When she let loose with a train horn bellow, I almost fainted, it was so loud! It took half a day for my hearing to recover!
Welcome to you both!

Welcome Shan, we have a thriving Eclectus community. KyKy is gorgeous, image perfectly uploaded.

I too am respectfully very apprehensive of leg chains.
