Good eve. I am a first time parrot owner. I have adopted a pair of green cheeks and a N. conure. They are very sweet but need lots of work. My green cheeks are very shy. I have not started to work with them. I am just getting them use to the household. They came from a full fly household. I knew that this would not go well in my house due to having two dogs. My beagle is giving us a little trouble with barking up at the one parrot. Before we left I had their wings clipped. I was afraid with my 6 year old grandson and a husband who forgets to clise doors that they would fly out. My one conure has a problem with biting but in a couple days I have Midnight stepping up on a perch and sitting on my shoulder. Also when I layed in bed she nesseled on my belly. She let me pet her which before she would go after me and attempt to bit. I am so hapy with her. Next is to work with my green cheeks, Remington and Kayla. All suggestions are welcomed.

Awww, sounds like you are off to a good start with all of them. Welcome to the forum. It will take a little time for them to adjust to your ways & a new environment.

My GGC was allowed to free fly in her former home. In my house there is too many obstacles she can get hurt by if I allow her to fly. So I keep her wings clipped & for a couple of weeks afterwards, she will refuse to come out of her cage to play. She pouts abouti not getting to fly. Once she is over the pouting, she is out like usual. They can be silly.

You definitely need to work on the beagle & it's barking at the bird(s).....that will make the birds nervous & could even cause plucking/mutilation.....

Welcome!!!
