Hi, I joined this forum today. I had 3 birds 1. Teil 1 alexnder and 1 plum head, they were completely fine yesterday and were playful, I don't know what happened but they suddenly started collapsing without any secretion from their beak aur nose or anywhere else. They just collapsed and stopped breathing. This happened in minutes so I didn't had time to visit vet, I am just curious why they died? Please let me know if ever heard of something like this. I not am feeling good I lost all my friends on one day.

My deepest condolences Lilpanda. What an awful day for you?

Yes, such things can happen. One common awful reason for all to go down immediately could primarily be related to an environmental toxin. Any appliances new to environment; paint; fumes of any sort? Outside of a necropsy we will be guessing, but we can probably come close to possible cause using the process of elimination. Please check this list for potential causes: PTFE's, PFOA's, Silicon, and Ceramic Cook/Bakeware

My deepest condolences for the loss of your three birds. I wish your joining was under better circumstances.

Sounds like an environmental event, likely toxic fumes. Ellie777Australia's link will provide background. If you have access to a certified avian vet, a necropsy (autopsy) may unveil the cause. If you choose this course, please safeguard them with refrigeration to prevent continued deterioration.

Terrible, one of my worst fears!!!! I am so sorry this happened to you! It's a good reminder to others how this can happen in one second. It happens in an instant from toxic fumes, usually no way to save them, they are gone in a heartbeat. So tragic!!! I only cook with cast iron, bake with glass, or use stainless steel pots because of this.. someone wanted to give me a toaster oven a d I was like no thanks, I could see had non stick tray.
My heart, my sympathies for you loss

Oh, wow- I am so sorry to hear this happened! You must be crushed! Deepest condolences on the loss of your feathered friends.

My deepest condolences... thank you for sharing, and reminding us all of the need for vigilance and open-mindedness. You are brave to reach out. Stick with us.
Autopsies (necropsies) are a very personal decision, but here are some more links if you'd like them.

In my opinion, any of the vets listed here should be better than a regular vet.
International contacts, too.

My heart goes out to you. Like the other forum members have expressed, I think what you experienced is a fear we all have.

I recently went through a remodel of our kitchen and adjacent family room and living room. I moved out with my bird for 6 weeks. We just moved back in and I am terrified that there may be smells that I can’t smell that might still be in the environment. I got new appliances and burned them several times before I brought home my bird. We had new cabinets and they were lacquered. I paid more to have them lacquered offsite to try and reduce the fumes. I bought a rabbit air purifier and plan to hook that up tomorrow.
