Hello there!

I am a new member to this forum. I have been a bird owner for some time now and have owned several species of birds over the course of my life. These days I mostly just do Chickens and Parrots and am owned by two Macaws :blue1::red1:, a Double Yellow Headed Amazon :green2:, a Conure and an African Congo, as well as a small chicken flock outside that lays my breakfast eggs. My parrots are all over 20 at this time (except the Conure, :orange: she is 19) and their behavior has settled into "adult mode" as I like to think of it.

My babies are awesome and all these years with them I now cannot imagine life without them. They all talk, some better than others and one (the conure) really badly (but that doesnt stop her from trying!). Over the years I have had them DNA sexed here and there as things have come up. I learned I have all hens, which has been a blessing as many years ago I used to keep my two macaws in the same flight cage during the day. Its interesting having all females - sometimes the occasional egg pops out here and there and you find it on the bottom of their cage, but so far so good and no one is being too broody or overly sexual/aggressive so I am happy with their current arrangement.

We keep them in a sleeping room at night with fan and filters running and heat off and only water to drink and toys in their cages to play with. During the daytime we have them on perches and gyms all day eating and playing and socializing as long as the daylight lasts. This setup has been the best so far (been doing it for a few years now) and they seem more content and happier than ever. Plus, I am finally able to feel like I can keep up with the cleaning! haha =)

Anyway, if anyone wants to know anything about them or me, I added pics and ages to my profile where I could, plus I am here to chat if you guys wish.
