Hello, everyone! I'm Caro, and I'm a new mom of two baby Quakers Nico:

and Arya:

I've never owned birds before, they were both a surprise birthday present ("surprise! here's a 30 year old commitment! HAHAHA!"). So I'm basically 100% clueless, but hopefully I'll be able to learn a bunch from these forums. I'm currently trying to wean them both and they're happy and healthy, so I guess I'm doing something right!

So glad to be here! I've been lurking for a couple of days and this place is awesome!

Omg!!! They're so freaking cute!!!!! Congrats! My first bird was a Quaker, so they are good first birds! I'm sure they'll bring years of joy! My advice would be to wrap the slippery perches (i.e., dowl perches) with vet wrap so the babies can grip it better. You can find it I'm the first aid section or order it online.

Thanks, guys! To be fair, Arya's a bit on the ugly side lol. But I love her anyway.

Thanks for the heads up, JadeC! I've replaced all of Nico's dowl perches save for one, but that is the one he prefers to sit on. It is a mystery.
