new lovebird owner/new member

Owner of one year old peach faced lovebird Basil. Basil has a great big cage all to himself, full of different perches and fun toys. He has been with us for 3 months and has only been out of his cage twice (with limited success). He is not hand tamed (yet, but we are trying). He is a very clever birdie and has learned a few tricks (as well as taught us a few). We love his singing and his antics and look forward to having him out with us more in the future.

Welcome. Keep at it with Basil. The keys to training birds is patience, persistence & consistency. Do the same things, the same way, over & over. My lovie, Elvis, is a joy of my life. All my birds are, but, Elvis is such a big personality in a small bird. Good luck with him, enjoy!
