New Lovebird Owner from Vancouver

Hi all,

I live in Vancouver, BC and am new to both the forums and pet birds in general. I have owned cats, dogs, fish, reptiles and tarantulas in the past but have been reduced to fish for quite a few years now!

I just bought my first bird yesterday, an eight week old peach faced lovebird my 7 year old son has decided to name Sunny. He/she is quite the go-getter and has provided us a lot of laughs in 24 hours. I am sure we will have many more years to enjoy his company.

Aww, congratulations! I just got a lovebird 7 days ago too! They are so cute and funny. Mine is not tame, but on the second day she came out of use cage to the floor where I was sitting with my laptop and snuggled into my robe! She does it all the time and that feels so special. My conure have never done anything like that - he just climbs up to the top of my head. LOL

Hello and welcome! Sunny is precious I have a swing smaller than that one in with my lovebirds (it was in their cage when I got them) and they love it! They will squeeze right in there, and like it better than the larger swing..lol.
