Tea spoon the peach faced love bird
and Trouble the white faced love bird
I guess I should introduce ourselves in the love bird section also. This is Tea Spoon. We rescued her from our local shelter. We have no history or info about her other then she was "found". We think it was a owner surrender that was to scared to say so. There is no way someone caught this bird in the open.

She is doing good. She will take food threw her cage but bites if you do it inside. Each day we have been sitting with her bonding. Today she started letting me place my hand still in the cage. I believe she will come around in time.

She is awesome to watch. She has a large ladder in her cage and loves going up and down it:rainbow1:

she is super cute and it sounds like you are going to do wonders earning her trust. i absolutely love her name, what made you name her that?

but may i offer a few pointers?

the cage looks pretty rusty, which can make her very very ill, so you may want to get her a new one.

second, has she had a vet visit? she looks a bit fluffed up, her tail is held low and it looks like her wings are drooping. these signs are often a sign of either egg laying, or illness, or egg laying complications. i know munch looks like this a few hours before laying eggs.

Tea spoon looks adorable....and welcome to the forum!

how long have you had Teaspoon for?....beautiful bright colours on that one.

I agree with Dally, it could just be because the bird is still settling in, but if it continues, a vet visit might be the way to go.

Tea spoon is adorable:)
I also agree with Dally about the cage. Is that the one she came in?

Very cute little lovebird, you're definitely going to want to get a new cage. Nothing kills a bird faster than zinc & lead poisoning and that cage looks sketchy.

Keep it going with the taming, it takes several months but its worth it!

Congrats on your new lovie! I'm working on taming my new one too. Best of luck to you!

The baby girl got a new cage. They checked her out at the shelter but I plan to take her to a avian dr. I looked online for some in the dallas Texas area today. I may have to take the big cage. I can't get her out safely yet
