We have been wanting to get a new parrot to add to our flock and have narrowed down our search to a Cape Parrot or a Illiger Macaw. Since the Capes are incredibly expensive....we are planning on getting the Illiger.
The breeder who we got our Hahns from recently had 1-2 Illiger's born. We are hoping that all will go well with the baby and he'll be healthy. There may be 2 in the clutch but the mother is doing a good job of hiding them.
This is to be my hubby's parrot (yeah, I know) and he wants to try really hard to get baby to like him. My Hahns isn't a fan of Jim but will let him hold him, but that's all. Our CAG isn't a fan of anyone touching him but he loves to talk to Jim and hates me...
We want to keep our new baby happy with both of us holding him but I'm gonna make sure Jim does most of the fun stuff early on so that he is more confident around him. We would also like to get him used to the shower early on since Jim takes 2 showers a day.
