So recently I've been getting more and more into motorbikes, it was cars..... Fast cars, but they just don't cut it anymore. I've got all my bike training and test booked up and really looking forward to it... Fingers crossed I pass!!!!

So anyways, I went out shopping today for t-shirts BUT I brought something a little more expensive o_O

It's an absolute beauty.... Except it's not mine :O I'm swapping that one for this!!! It's my brothers bike, but he's kinda out grown it and wants something more powerful.

That's me sat on it, both stunning bikes.... Just can't wait to get out on the road. He keeps teasing me by going out for rides to the coast and sending me pictures!!!!

Anyways, I hope you enjoy. Not everyone's cup of tea I know!!! All comments welcome!!! :D

Hmm...that is the weirdest looking t-shirt I have ever seen :p

Love the ninja. I've always wanted to get into fixing up cars myself but I've got a soft spot for fast bikes. Enjoy your new hobby and keep us updated!

It's a nice looking bike. I like the matte black. Don't know a thing about them though other than it looks cool:) My brother in law is really into bikes. He has one that looks similar to that, only his is silver.

Hope you pass your test and have fun (and be safe!).

Be Careful!

I bet your parrot would rather you get a Motorcycle, not a Crotch rocket! Lol. I'm only kidding - But seriously, please be careful, Ive been riding since i was 18. And let me give you this piece of advice: Every biker goes down at least once in their life. If you havent yet, prepare for the day you do. Remember: Boots, Gloves, Long pants, Biker jacket that has body armor (Especially a spine guard) and Oh God please wear a helmet,

I live here in florida and i see guys riding around in shorts a t-shirt, sandals and no helmet. just sunglasses. And I'm like - seriously?? Then they take off from a red light hitting 60 mph in like 3-4 seconds on those crotch rockets and im just like - Yeeaahh.. Somebody got into daddys industrial glue as a kid..

I went down 4 years ago because some mom was on her cell phone, drinking a coffee, and yelling at her kids decided to peel out in front of me while it was spritzing a little bit. If i didn't lay the bike down i'd be dead. Luckily, i "walked" away with a shattered scapula(Shoulder blade), Shoulder broken, Broken Collar bone, And enough road rash to give me tears the size of horse turds for the next 6 months. And i was wearing all the recommended protection i mentioned above What happened? Darn zipper was faulty and busted on impact yanking my jacket off while i surfed the black ocean before my bike landed on top of me smashing me against a foot high concrete curb..

Hope i didnt scare you. Just want you to be careful. Too many people thinking biking is all fun and games.

Which it is FUN. and i still ride too!

Just remember. your Parrot(s) need you to come home at night

(And maybe a missus?)

Hope i didn't overstep a boundary. I do like to share that story when i can :D

I always wanted to learn to ride a motorcycle. I have always enjoyed going as a passenger. My next door neighbors both ride--husband rides a lot of the year to and from work and wife was in some stunt/wheelie class. Pretty fun!!

This is very true, and often times that is their last time going down. Both my parents died in a motorcycle accident in 2010. Truck ran a red light and that was it.

Often times you can be a perfect driver and it will still happen.

That black bike is pretty cool though! Hope i didn't bring you down, just stay safe always be on alert.

Congratulations! Be safe!

Thanks everyone for your interest. Believe me when I say I'm very aware of the dangers of bikes, I've friends that have died and lads I know. My cousin has 2shattered ankles after coming off on the TT race circuit and smashing into a kerb. We live in the country, people are often killed hitting tractors etc.... But I just want to experience them while I'm young enough ;)
Also trust me when I say I'll be wearing all proper gear. I've already got boots.... I'll get a picture of them, I need leathers (1peice suit) gloves and a decent helmet that's not been dropped getting in and out of cars!!!! It's law here to wear helmets........ Shame it's not law to wear everything else, there should be a minimum requirement if you ask me. The picture of me sitting on the bike is when we picked it up. It was loaded into a van ;) I DID NOT ride it like that..... Never will.

Thanks for your story/experience!!! Sounds like that hurt a lot!!! You only get one chance on a bike I believe..... So if I go out with that in mind hopefully I'll ride accordingly, but likes been pointed out, it doesn't have to be you. Could just be in the wrong place at the wrong time!!

Hahahaha no, don't be silly, course tou didn't over step the mark, I don't get offended toooooo easy haha, yes blue will need me as she's only bonded to me, andddddd I've not been unfortunate enough to find myself a young lady yet hahahaha ;) I'm sure when I do the toys will go!!!!!

I'm pleased everyone else likes the black bike. It's the one I'm having to get me going, good deal off my brother too :D

And yesssss strangest t-shirt I've EVER brought, fingers crossed I don't end up wearing it :O

I'm sorry to hear that!!! It's always a worry, what other people do.... Or don't do!!!
I must admit I'm usually a pretty quick driver, I HATE poodling about and find when I do I just switch off and just drive like a robot!!! Now I'm not saying I'll be flying around on a bike, but I think because of the feeling of being 'open' and not cooped up in a Metal box that will help keep me on my toes.

I have Bike Envy.

I loved riding when I was young and haven't forgotten that amazing feeling of tooling along the highway without a care in the world. You've clearly got a handle on the safety concerns and others have already commented on that, so I won't hammer on about it. Just stay safe and ENJOY YOUR BIKE! :D :D :D

Thanks Trish, sorry to go stirring up old memories...... Maybe go visit them again haha, I'd love to go riding in Oz and America, one or two places that pop into mind but we'll see.

Hopefully got a handle on the safety issues.... For which there are many I know!!

I, too, have fond (and not so fond) memories of my BEST ride ever on a Ninja on the German Autobahn back in the 90s. :D Mind you, I was a passenger, and against my better knowledge decided to keep my shorts on while going for a quick spin. BIG mistake! :11:

We were 'flying' on the Autobahn when a bug hit my leg. A big bug. I swear, it felt as if it has just gone through my leg. :54:

But - it was AWESOME nonetheless. :D

Have fun Matt!!!

I agree. I notice when i ride it's like my senses are heightened because im not in an enclosed vehicle and the only thing between me and a 2 ton hunk of metal smashing into me are my wits and the grace of God lol! Good Luck and congratulations on your new Bike, man :)

You know what? Life is short and you can die crossing the street. Sure, be careful and observe all the safety things, but ENJOY!

I ride a road bike (bicycle) and I have heard a hundred times how dangerous it is, but you can't live your life worrying about "what its."

Yes I totally agree with you. My mum lost her sister in a horse riding incident, so has always been very much against us getting bikes. Adam (my brother) bit the bullet first.... Mum flipped saying don't be soooo stupid, you'll die.... Adam just said, yes.... And so have 200 odd people who have just been shot down over Ukraine. ( sorry for insensitivity) but yes you are right, you never know what's just round the corner.... But you can help ;)

While yes it's true you USUALLY do only get once chance in an accident on a bike. HOWEVER I do know a couple who was on a bike and got hit by a truck when I was around middle school or just getting ready to go into high school (had to be before I was a freshman because halfway through my freshman year my dad and his wife at the time split up) they both ended up in critical condition. But they both also made a complete recovery so sometimes you get lucky but not often.

Also it won't be when you meet a young lady the toys go away it's when the kids come that the toys go away.

Ok so this is something id LOVE do do with my blue and gold, but id be to scared to ever attempt it. Check out this video
