Hey everybody My name is Lex and I am a jewelry/metalsmithing student at the University of Kansas. I LOVE parrots, and all birds in general. I got my rehabilitation license when I lived out in the country because I'd always stumble upon injured birds and I couldn't leave them out to die. I am not allowed to have pets in my apartment, unfortunately, and I don't trust the apt. heating in the winter since it killed my betta fish One day when I have a house in a warm place, I will rescue a parrot and spoil him properly!
So obviously I am an animal person but also an aspiring business woman who seriously values her ethics. I am looking for contacts that are willing to sell me their naturally molted feathers if they don't already have uses for them. I am worried that if I buy from a source on ebay, the lots may have come from sketchy sources and I NEVER want to contribute to poaching and animal cruelty. I want to use macaw feathers to make an elaborate piece for a final project but I want to be 100% sure that each one comes from a happy, healthy parrot, once he decides he's done with those feathers!
SO, if you happen to save feathers but have no use for them, or normally throw them away, please consider saving some and selling them to me! I would appreciate it tons.
Hope I am not breaking any forum rules posting this but I thought you'd all be the best to ask.
thanks so much for reading!
