So, some surprising new developments here between Raven and Griffin...
This is a follow up to the thread in the link below.

This new development (see pics) might explain why Raven was acting defensive toward me when I was trying to "help" Raven by removing Griffin from him when he got too pesty?

I couldn't believe it! Mutual preening! Just days ago, Raven thought Griffin was just being a pest. Looks like he gave in to the little kid :). Maybe in my other thread, the reason why Raven was being defensive against me, is he was saying "don't you dare take my annoying little friend away!"

I'm still watching very closely, as I know there is a bit of age difference yet, as well as size difference, but looks like a good sign. ;)

That's awesome progress!!! Honestly when I read your other thread, I thought that it might be that Raven was mad at you because when you move Griffin, you're paying attention to him and it was a jealousy thing. Like he didn't quite grasp that you were removing him, but only saw that Griffin was getting picked up and he wasn't! Yknow?(not sure if that was mentioned. Forgive me if it was. )

But regardless I'm glad the big ol' Raven has started to soften up to the fellow. Mutual preening is a wonderful thing. Whatever it is that changed it definitely seems like a good thing. :)

Wow, Julie! It's pretty much feast or famine with those two, eh? Hahaha!

But what a sweet development! Harmony in the flock is a beautiful thing! 2 down, but still one more to go, no?

Nope. :( Robin will never like others. It would really be something if after 20 years he FINALLY accepted a friend? Adult Poi's aren't very social with other birds. Typically they'd rather kill :52:.
I thought I'd get Griffin used to it while young. I figure Griffin should still be good with Raven when he gets mature if he's ALREADY been a long time friend? Hope it works that way.

In that first pic it looks like Griffin is huge. I think it's great they are getting along.

Wonderful! I am so happy to hear this :)

They are gorgeous birds, Julie. Glad to see this happy development.

Yay!! It's so awesome to see a friendship blossoming between those two.

CUTE photos, btw. :)

YAY!!!! Griffin isn't a Baby Huey, lol. Fabulous news. Looks like that excited personality won! I love that they are socializing and being nice to each other. They are both gorgeous too!

Thanks everyone :) Tracy, haha Baby Huey that's funny. No, not him lol. I still have to supervise, they get into little spats.

How did I miss this post yesterday?! That is too cute! Raven and Griffin are becoming little buddies. I think that's nice for Raven, since Robin only wants to be your friend;)

I still have to supervise, they get into little spats.

Lucy and Barney have been bonded pair for 40 years, and they STILL get in little spats (Hey, you preened me to hard...*chomp!*...and loud 'arguing' ensues:rolleyes:). Eventually, you'll be able to trust they are just getting in minor disagreements instead of vicious battles. The fact they took to each other so quickly tells me they'll be best friends in no time.

Thanks :) That's good to know it's a good sign! I'm posting another thread about my concern about this friendship of different sized birds.
