Gilligan-Blue and Gold Macaw
Hey guys! So from Gilligans old owner, he was on zupreem. She said that he was on it because the vet suggested it for his feathers because even though he has all his feathers, they're not very clean or nice looking. I got a different type of zupreem then the old owner had (simply because I could not find the specific kind she had) and I have noticed a huge difference in the past month or two. His feathers are looking dirty, never laying flat, still bright but the just aren't like pretty anymore. Also, he seems to be a bit shakey and just not as healthy looking. Wondering if there's a good diet someone can suggest that will help him out?? I uploaded a picture of what his feathers look like on a normal basis.

Could be more than diet. Does he get bathed regularly? Molting could cause some rougher plumage, regular baths may help. Which Zupreems were they? Is he eating plenty of the new flavor? Does he get any fresh foods? Does he show any other deteriorating signs (lethagy, irregular poops, weight loss/gain, drainage from any orifice)?

From looking at the pic, some regular bathing will solve that issue! He's probably still trying to adjust as he is still rather new your surrounding as to the shakiness but it never hurt to have him checkout by a avian vet. Are you supplement his diet with fresh fruits and veggies along with nuts???
