Hello I just got a cockatoo 8 days ago. ( I know that is absolutely no time at all)But since day 1 he loved me climbed on my arm would put his head on me to rub him and was so sweet. Then about 3 days ago I moved some stuff around in his cage and tried putting new toys in his cage. ( thinking he would be excited and love it.)
Boy was I wrong now he hates me bites at me very chance he gets and will even act sweet just to get me near to take a nip at me. I removed the toys and tried putting everything back the way it was but no luck.
Is there a way to repair the relationship?

Yes, it can be repaired. The change in behavior could be more than just the cage, though.

For now, you may want to take a step back and any time you walk by the cage, drop a special treat (that the bird enjoys!) into a cup. Once he starts getting used to your presence again, you can do some target training through the cage bars to start up a basis of communication. Once he'll target to any location within the cage, you can do some target training through the open cage door and around the outside of the cage before working away from the cage.

If changing out the dishes is an issue, incorporate some station training away from the dishes for a reward.

Welcome to you and your new cockatoo! First few weeks is a "honeymoon" period of testing, challenging, learning ways to co-exist and manipulate. They are extremely intelligent and worthy of great efforts resulting in a beloved lifelong companion.

What species, and how old? That'll help us give relevant advice. Building a baseline of trust and bonding is critical. This thread shares some great advice: http://www.parrotforums.com/general-parrot-information/49144-tips-bonding-building-trust.html
