New Carpet Concerns

Our conures are primarily in our bedroom. Right now, it has low maintenance, cheap carpet. Similar to maybe what you'd have in an office waiting room or something.

It was already installed when we moved in last year. We are thinking about having new carpet laid maybe next spring or this fall. I searched the forum and really only found one post mentioning carpet concerns, that concern being fermaldahyde (cant spell it, gave it my best shot!) treatment. I dont even know WHY youd treat it with that stuff . . .

Anyway, what are some concerns when installing capret in the room my conures (or any bird) live in? Are there certain manufacturers/materials i should avoid altogether? Are there any materials or manufacturers specifically safe for birds?

I don't know what it is . But Ive seen multiple stories on birds that died after new carpet was installed. I would not do it [what about a different flooring ?}.
