New cage w/door locks concerns!

I'm putting the baby's new cage together. It's a King's cage and it's beautiful. Almost done..I got the locks on but upon closer inspection i dont like these locks. I am concerned could her curious lil tongue get caught in the openings of the metal.. or even cut? Slight sharp edge there where the lock adjusts.. not good!.. The cage instructions are just poor illustrations. Im good with these things but so frustrating until I figured out how to get the locks on with just a drawing Unbelievable. Im having a horrible day..! Thinking I could use something else for locking the doors. Help me, please..

You cound use a small file or emery board to remove the burrs. Wouldn't take long.
