New Business - Fresh Foods for Parrots

Hi everyone,

As I was slicing, dicing, chopping and bagging my weeks worth of Fid's food. An idea came to me!! I think I'm going to start doing this stuff for other people as well. It will be made to order, it can be a one time order, a 2 week, 3 week, a month or ongoing. I will ship to anywhere in the USA, as anything further may be a little tough to keep fresh

If you could get all of your Fresh Veggies and Fruits for your birds sent to you in individual plastic bags, IE: Carrots, beans, peas, etc... and sliced and diced however you'd like or even in bags of little medleys, liki I do for my Fids.

What do you guys think about this? Do you think if you had a way to have your stuff delivered each week, already ready to pull out and feed, would you buy it this way? Of course they will all be Organic Fresh Produce from The Fresh Market.

Let me hear your idea's and let me know if you would do something like this personally.

I love your idea. Of course when you only have one bird that eats the selected foods she likes it may be difficult for spiritbird's home deleivery. How could you get these foods in the winter?
I just received a box of Christmas Palm nuts from Fla. and they are nice and fresh - no referigeration. guess what Rosie will not eat them any way or any how. I will not do that again.

I do get the dehydrated mixes for birds from avainnaturals which I mix in the foods I cook like rice, legumes and other grains.

Anyway it is a very good idea. If you could sell to people with lots of birds who work in the daytime you may make lots of $$$ and at the same time have a fun job. Chop chop chop is right.

LOL!! Well, as far as getting some of the different fruits and veggies that are out of season in the winter, probably can't. However, Florida generally has almost all of them at the Fresh Market, with the exception of maybe strawberries certain times of the year. Yeah, If you've only got 1 bird, it's pretty easy to do yourself, for sure. But, I was thinking along the lines of several birds and little time to prepare the foods for them, it might give guardians that extra time to spend with their fids too.

Hmm, I was wondering about those palm nuts. Of course, I live in Florida, so I would just go pick a few myself before buying some from them. I would hate to spend the money if the birds won't eat them!!!

It is a great idea, but how would you keep it fresh without browning or spoiling?

Lisa: Rosie ate some of the two palm nuts I gave her today. They are nutritious. Have a soft outer coating, then a fruity layer then fibrous and then a soft nut inside. Thanks to Greycloud I can give you the link:
