Parrots
green one-- mid sized
Hello kind bird people!

We just got a medium sized parrot from someone here in Mexico where we live (not a wild one-- it is a bred bird...)

He told us it is a perico peruviano-- a peruvian parrot, but cannot figure out really what type of parrot he is-- can someone help us identify this pretty bird?

:20: That reminds me an awful lot of Quakers.
If I'm wrong, someone please correct me!

You are right Quaker Parrot and welcome to the forum:)

Welcome! That is definitely a Quaker, or Monk parrot. Have never heard them called a Peruvian parrot before, but they are known by many different names.

Quakers or Monk parrots are found throught the temperate and subtropical countries of South America. In Peru and Chile, they are found in the colder regions, so they are adapted to cold climates. That is why there are feral colonies as far North as New York and New Jersey.
