Hello Hello!
Well I have never had a conure before, we recently got a Green cheek conure, we named him Merlin.
In preparation I watched some videos, read some articles, etc
The one woman I followed said for the first week not to touch your conure. Not to put your hand in his cage etc - 7 days. I have been following that but it seems he is kind of becoming less friendly for it, like he wanted to be touched alot and all before now you go near the cage and he backs off then comes to the edge and looks to nip.
Is is this best method that I am following? Or should I be interacting with him more? Touching him everyday etc
He does nip a little but has not broken skin though I believe he lets you know he is not always in the mood or maybe he is testing the waters not sure. I know with my other pets when they misbehave or do something I do not like, I ignore them and I do not reward the behavior.
Any advice?
Thanks so much
Dawn
