new bird only eats millet

We just got our first cockatiel a week ago, Charlie. The breeder told us she was 13 weeks old and ready to go home. She seems comfortable now, the only thing is that she seems to only want to eat millet. We have a wet weaning mix (corn, rice, carrots, grains...), pellets, and a seed mix in her cage. I've noticed that she will eat the weaning mix, but she primarily only wants millet spray. We had two sprigs of millet spray in her cage all week, because I know the move to a new home can be scary and the millet can be comforting, however I am concerned that she will depend on it. At other times, we try to give her either one of the mixes, but she doesn't seem interested and will scream until we give her millet again. How can I get her to eat other foods?
She doesn't yet like to eat out of the dishes either and doesn't explore her cage a lot. She just either stays put where we place her, or makes her way to the bottom. She barely touches the toys we have in the cage. I don't know what we can do to let her better settle in to her new home.

Welcome to you and Charlie! I am not a breeder and cannot properly assess her weaning progress. Other members have such expertise and may come along to contribute!

Millet is somewhat akin to a burger + fries for humans. Definitely nourishing but ought not be a dietary staple for most species. Introducing new foods can be a challenge, continue to offer regardless of response. I'll share a links from our Parrot Food, Recipes, and Diet forum. My technique is to prepare two bowls of fresh veggies/fruits. Offer one to Charlie, begin to eat from the second. Make "mmmmm" sounds, bob your head in enjoyment. Birds are flock eaters and you are one of the flock.

Charlie will continue to acclimate well beyond one week, at least a month is typical. Millet is a welcome "comfort food" but you'll want to transition to a healthier permanent diet over time.
