good morning,
i am a member of a rescue group that has a problem at hand.
see one of our rescued Quakers has an egg stuck to its chest. the pair laid their clutch of 4 eggs last week. we have monitored their porgress over the past week. then yesterday when doing afternoon feeding we noticed an egg still in tact was stuck to her chest. and it is still that way this morning.
any ideas or suggestions?

Hello and welcome. This is a most unusual problem for us to help you with. The first thing that comes to my mind is to give her a warm bath to soak the substance that is holding the feathers to the egg. You may have to repeat the bath or spritz a few times. Please let us know what happens.

Absolutely right, exactly what I was going to suggest. What an odd situation, I too would like to know how it ends.

Hi and welcome to a wonderful friendly forum
Never came across a situation as mentioned.
SB has given great advise, worth trying it.
Good luck, keep us posted

This happened to one of my teil's once - She's a chronic layer, although thankfully old age has slowed her down a little bit. As others have mentioned simply soak off with some luke warm water and use your fingers to gently pull away. I know if the eggs are fertile you risk losing the little guy, but the egg needs to come off. In Misty's case it has a small break and the yoke had dried to her skin. Let us know what's going on.

i have offered all of your suggestions to the rescue. the hard part will be the capture of the girl. she has never been handled and is not sweet. so we may have to conider the possible loss of the egg if it means her health is in trouble.

keep us posted.. have someone towl her then someone else inspect the situation. I would highly doubt the egg was fertile or still viable if it was. but u can take a bright pen light and have a look at the situation.
