I need some advice on making sure my amazons are going to be OK when I leave. It's been 2 weeks they seem to be relaxed but when the male tries to go in her cage she Flys off he can get on her cage but not in it also when she makes certain noises his attitude changes not for the best

umm... what?

I have no idea what you're asking here? Leaving? Mate in cage? you need to elaborate.

It sounds like you're going away for a couple weeks and plan on leaving them alone? If so then you will come back to find 2 birds either dead or dying

tlehr, you may have asked your question in a less then clear manner. Sounds like you have male and female amazons that have some degree of freedom to roam around . After that I am not certain.

Can you restate the question in a different manner? Punctuation is your friend when trying to get an idea or a question across to other people.

BTW , welcome to the Parrot Forum.

When you have a Male and Female of the same species, in this case Yellow-Naped Amazons. It is important to understand that even if they have been great friends, there will be times when separation is just a good idea, i.e. their own cages with some kind of separation, possible a cover on one side.

If you have only had this pair for a short two weeks, you have no idea how they may interact and as a result, they need to be separated when you are not keeping a close eye on them.

As stated above: A ton more information is really need to provide anything more than this.

How long you have had them?
Are they a Bonded Pair?
Are they Companion Parrots or a Breeding Pair?

And, a ton more information, please.

Also, Welcome to Parrot Forums!

FYI: If you have not read at least the two Threads at the top of the Amazon Forum, please do so.
