i brought Skittles (Moustache Parakeet) home on Saturday. it was a long trip but she is adjusting quite well. here she is just after arrival still in the travel cage.

didn't take her long to come out and have a look around....

then after a while i moved her to the cage she will be using till i get a bigger one.

she had a good look around, inside and out

i think she likes it! after the horrible cage she was in, no wonder.
it was a small black round cage on a stand that looked to be from the 60's. maybe thats why her tail feathers are so short.
anyways, she is a very good eater but she has some pretty loud vocalizations, oh my!
i don't know what my husband is gonna say. he is away till friday.
he goes to bed early and likes to watch TV, oops!

Fantastic! Skittles is a great name and she looks very happy with his new home. I love the distinctive colours on the moustache parakeet, very beautiful.

My moustache parrot can be rather noisey to
just say her name andvreward her once she is quite
worked well for my boy
I know when it's time for bed though as he stands on the perch closest to me and calls continuasly until I cover him
this may not be the case for your girl but just a heads up incase
they are awesome birds with alot of personality and I'm sure you shall have many fun times with her

Skittles is BEAUTIFUL! I love all the photos and he seems to like what he is seeing!

Wow! all sorts of new fids comming home this last week with forum members, Congratulation on bringing home Skittles, love the name, I have a Galah with the same name, I've always loved the look of the MP's and Derbyan's as well, pretty similar, yours is no exception, very beautiful, just remember, you can always get a new husband, but birds are forever!

It took me ages to work out the difference between the two
I'm not sure if there is more than just the colouring however but yes I'm glad I know now

Mp have salmon pink chest
derbyns have purpleish coloured chest
