Neptune Blue is the reason I joined the forum! I brought him home June 23, but it seems like he has always been with me! The passing of my beloved GCC Burt the Bird (later learned she was a girl but jelt the name, left me and my remaining CCG Ta-dah with a hole in our hearts. So after reading several books on Quaker's and online research, abd lurking on forums, abd watching way to many YouTube videos! I found a breeder and begain the wait for my baby to be weaned....many of you out there know the feeling!!! And because my heart was set on getting a blue male, I had to wait for the breeder to do DNA testing. He is beautiful, he is loud, he is bold, and sometimes he plays with his toys and can't be bothered with mere humans. But he can cuddle and demand all of my attention too. I began speaking all the phrases I wanted him to say for hours....two weeks nothing....then he laughed and said good boy! Then I wanna cookie, wait what? I have never said that, there aren't even cookies in the house!!!! He heard his breeders five year old saying that!! He hasn't quit talking since!! He can say what are you doing, good morning, come hear, up, what a good boy, he adds words daily now, they just pop up when he does his morning or evening run through.

Lock this one up - I want to steal him :)
Just too perfect looking (and he sounds pretty good too)

I am glad he makes you (and your other birds) happy

Neptune is a few days shy of five months old. For the past week he looked like he was try to mount Ta-dah, I write this off as play. Last night and today he started the head bobbing and regurge to both Ta-dah abd I after preening petting! Is this pre teen stuff or is he hitting puberty early???!! BTW Neptune is also flirting with Penny (so leaning that she is a girl)! I had read puberty in quakers is eight months to two years?! He and his hatching mates did wean at six weeks. I would say maybe his hatching date was fudged but I got him still baby size and fledging, still growing his adult tail and wings in. So he is just an early bloomer???! Mamma's little baby is turning into a rooster!!!!!!

I love his coloring :D Blue is my fav color anywho :)

Thank you AmybIuefront, Abd Wrench! I do need help on the puberty thing tho...I thought I would have more time before this. It seems Neptune is in puberty, abd that he is trying to pick a mate between myself Ta-dah and Penny, as he is head bobbing abd regurging to all of us. I don't know what to do? Do I need to keep him from spending one on one time with the other girls? So as that he bonds more with me? Is this just a phase and don't worry? Or let him pick one if the other parrots? Would they be best buds, and still buds with me then? I had the two girl GCC before and they were very closely bonded and still bonded with me. I know if he picked Ta-dah she would stay bonded with me(I think) as we have been close for seven years. But if he picked Penny I would worry.,. Or do I not need to worry about this stuff all? EllenD I hope you weigh in! I was out to dinner with friends and we went for post dinner coffee so I am caffeinated up! Silly me, probably won't be sleeping anytime soon!

Thanx Laurasea, as a first time Quaker mum I’m watching for info from you, Allee and EllenD very closely! :)
