Nemo is awesome! Ahhh what a relief! I was so worried about his weight and it ended up being a non issue. You know it's funny, I do daycare for a living. I deal with many new parents and the one thing I always tell them is try not to read to much, it's not really that helpful. In fact it's kind of scary. Well the same is true for fids I guess. The good news is Nemo is a perfectly healthy baby macaw. I am so happy :)!!!!

Terrific news, Sherry!!! You must feel over-the-moon that Nemo is as healthy as can be. :D

It's always so easy to tell others "aah, don't worry so much", but I know how you feel, when it's OUR baby, we become the biggest worry-warts. :)

That's great news, Sherry :). I was fairly sure you had nothing to worry about. I'm so glad it's now been confirmed as fact :D. As I mentioned a few days ago, it's all too common to find folks within Internet discussion groups who are inclined to make unqualified negative assessments based upon limited information and their own misinterpretations. A grain of salt is always a handy thing ;). You can enjoy Nemo with far less worry now :D.

That's exactly what the vet said today. I just don't understand wy some people feel the need to scare other people with hurtful things, I mean do they really feel like they are helping? They really scared me when it came o Nemo. The vet was amazing today I must say. He did tell me that Nemo needed to gain some weight but he wasn't unhealthy by any means. I just need to keep oing what I'm doing. He also asked "so, what kind of bird was Nemo caged with?" How did he know? He said he could tell by his feathers that he had been caged with another bird. All in all it was a big weight lifted so now I can relax and just love on my birds! Yay. Oh and thank you for keeping me sane while I waited to get into the vets, I really helped.

I think some people who do that mean well. The problem is they may base their opinions upon what they've read and heard, then combine that with their own assumptions. It often amounts to a recipe for error. There are a few malicious people out there as well, though. Those individuals seem to get gratification through causing distress to others.

The important thing is that you know the truth now. And it happens to be a very nice truth... Nemo is fine! :D

Yep, I told ya not to worry about comments made for just looking at a picture. If we could all do that with correct results, the vets would not stay in business.

Nemo is a gorgeous baby& I am glad ya'll are bonding. Nothing better in this world than a snuggly macaw.

I went to my breeder with all my paranoid delusions and he talked me down from my fears. After shopping for a board certified avian vet, I basically try to bounce things I believe are true off him and see if they are correct.
