Lily (Lillian) a spoiled cockatiel
Lily is being extremely demanding lately in terms of attention. She squeaks quite a bit when i leave the room or dont pay attention to her. If im just Watching tv and not paying attention to her, she will start doing tricks ive taught her so I have to reward her. I actually think its very cute, and I enjoy greatly the time she wants to spend with me, but Im afraid that when I have to go back to school she will be unhappy. Ive gotten her tons of toys to play with, so I know she will have something to do, but Im still worried she will be lonely. She has lived with a school scedule before of course, so it should be easy to wean her off of so much playtime every day, though it will probably be more hard for me. I sure will miss being able to just sit with my cockatiel and enjoy my time with her. though, to my big question... Ive heard its better to only give a cockatiel one toy a day so they have something new to play with each day, and to alternate between toys so that she dosent have each toy too often. Does anyone else think this is a good idea?

Also on a side not, what are yalls opinions on bird harnesses? thinking about buying one for Lily so we can go outside on the farm together, though some people say its horribly wrong to do that. Ive also heard its easier to start when they are weanlings, yet lily is over a year old now. Either way, ill probably get one. Been making something sort of like a harness out of ribbon, and she doesent mind it too much actually.

Bob has only ever bitten me hard once. It was just after I took him outside in his harness the first time. A lot of people suggested that I put it on him and take him outside where he would be distracted from it; he wasn't distracted. Bob's is a Feather Teather.

That's actually the exact same one I've been looking at. And lily bitmmemhard enough to draw blood the first day I got her, but only because she had never been held before. I'm hoping to let her get used to it and make sure it's adjusted right before taking her outside, I'd be devastated if she flew away.
