Need some help please..

… It was bath time today for the kids,BB took a shower with me and I decided since it was a beautiful day I'd take Amy outside for a misting. Usually he showers with me but originally he'd get a misting which he absolutely went bonkers over,loving every little spray. Today he sat on his T stand as I misted away,just shaking his head. I said "C'mon Amy you used to LOVE this,extending your arms out,shaking your head,wiggling your rudder and yelling with joy,whats wrong?" As I squirted and let the droplets fall on him he slowly started to extend his arms..a little more..a little more..until they were fully out and his rudder was wiggling again and the head was tossing back and forth! YAY AMY!! that's how you do it!!.

32 oz's later lol and we were done,as he soaked up some much needed vitamin D and dried off.

As I was looking him over I saw this "thing"..a "growth" above one of his noses ( see pics,sorry for crappy view,tried to get a close up) This growth is just recent..wasn't there when we went to see Salty and company. It hasen't effected his appetite or behavior..any idea what it might be?
I'll be calling Doc Kristin tomorrow morning to make an appointment.

My Sam had one of those years ago. It was a tiny infection in a gland. The vet lanced it and gave us some antibiotics, and all went away quickly. It looked exactly like Amy's. I would suggest a visit to the vet to confirm.

Thanks Anita..I was wondering too if it were an infection. The "boys" were pretty rambunctious at Saltys house,always beaking each other. I wonder if Salty inadvertently poked Amy with his beak and it got infected.

As I mentioned in my post, Doc Kristin will get a call in the morning to make an appointment.

Ya Wes he was on the "hefty" side (548g's) a while back ( 6 months or more ago) He has been holding pretty steady now around 507.

That is so funny! Sam was a little porker also. We got his weight down to 508. Just one gram heavier than Amy LOL

Near the sinus does make one worry. Glad you have a good vet and keep us updated. Hopefully it's minor. Our feathered babies Keep us on our toes for sure! Ugh...

Hi Jim. It looks like an abcess and everyone is correct - a quick lancing and ant-i biotics should clear it up quickly. I will be surprised if its anything worse. And Salty is sorry if he pecked Amy in the nares, but honestly I wasn;t putting my hand near their beaks, no, no, no! Al's too smart for that.

Amy has an appointment Wednesday at 1pm with Doc Kristin. I probably could have made it earlier with their other CAV but Amy (and I) have developed a repoire with Doc K ( and she doesn't hurt the eyes! ) but she won't be in the office until then.
Amy is eating like your typical 'zon,is very vocal and playing. I don't believe he is in any discomfort or pain. Like mentioned previously,I believe this is a very recent thing..I would have noticed it immediately coz it sticks out like a sore thumb I'll keep you all posted.

It may not even be infected, but just a "blister" (I believe the technical term would be an "encapsulated edema") from a beak poke. If that's the case, it will probably re-absorb over time - much like a small blister from a burn on your finger.

The doc will know for sure, though.
