GUYS, Plz help me out. i have got an alexandrine , its name is NANU:green:. it is 1 year old. i have looked after him since he was 5 days old. i am confused if it is a male or a female:confused:. i have shared his pics in my album. kindly let me know at the earliest if he is male or female :) .

I can't seem to find your album, it can take up to 2.5 years for alex's to develop their neck ring.

The pictures are really small, I can't tell whether that's the start of a ring or just the shadow between the feathers of his head and neck. I have a female alex but in some pictures there is a little shadow that makes it look like she has a ring, that's the only reason I ask.

It looks like you have a male. I enlarged the pic and it looks like there is a ring.

A side on view of the head would be of help but is not always correct. The males usually have a flat broarder head where a hen has a smaller rounded shaped head. The dark ring isn't a indication that it's a male as some hens do have a darker ring than the others.

You only have to wait for the next molt. At the 2 year molt you should see little pink feathers coming through on the back of the neck. But the full ring of the male isn't complete until 3 years of age.
