Piper (CAG) ~ Mia (CAG) ~ Molly (CAG) ~ Rio (BFA) ~ Disco (GCC) & Baby (Goffins)
I haven't been around here in a while but I have some exciting news. I am taking in 2 CAG's, both females and they will be here in about 3 hours. I seen someone posted about a lady in need of help with rehoming her birds due to getting custody of her grandchild and she lives near me so I contacted her and offered to help. They are not friendly and it looks like one is plucked a little bit on its wing. They have shared a cage their whole lives and they are sisters. I cannot take all of her birds in, I would if I had the room for all of those large cages. I "MIGHT" (that is a big might) also take her Goffin Cockatoo. She is bringing him with her so I can see him. More than likely I will be taking him if he doesn't have any bad habits. He is friendly and loves to cuddle. He has a name. I need help with names for these 2 little ladies. Help please !!! lol

You're going to have your work cut out for you! What an aviary of birds, you'll never not have someone to talk to, lol.

I would recommend getting to know the birds personalities before naming them. :)

I know it, it's never quiet as it is with Piper here, lol. I am always home so I have nothing but time on my hands. She has called them both "Bird" so they don't have a name yet.

That makes me sad when people don't give their animals names. That's like calling your kid "boy" or "girl".

Post pics when they get here and I'm sure someone will help with cute names.

I know, even my fish and frogs have names (not that they know their names but still .... lol) I will post all kinds of pics. I need to get some videos of Piper now too. He isn't such a little baby anymore and is speaking VERY WELL. He cracks me up. I need to upload new pics of Rio too now that I've had him awhile and he looks a million times better.

I agree , get to know them first . Oh and good luck with them !
Poor things , I hope they at least had decent care.
I thought of these names anyway , since they are both females....

Cagney , Lacey
Laverne, Shirley
Or...
Ashley , Mya
Ruby , Pearl

Sorry , I love thinking of names , lol.

A lot of us liked Hailey for someone else's bird. So I suggest:

Hailey and Trinity

I approve.

I also agree, I even named my fish even though they obviously didn't know their name too. Good luck with the two/three new birdies!

She sent a pic to my phone of the Grays. So this is pic #1 .... I'll post more after they get here and get settled in.

And BTW, I am really liking Hailey :) Maybe Hailey & Comet ??? I'll see if it fits them when they arrive. They will be here within the hour .... excited to see these girls. They already have a vet appointment on Monday.

Yes, I told her I didn't want that cage before I seen it. She said it was old and I have a newer Macaw sized cage that was just being stored and it will be perfect for these little ladies. I went on a shopping spree at the pet store for toys & treats. She was just feeding them a parrot blend so I'm going to try to switch them over to Harrison's and offer them some veggies & noodles tonight.

Thanks. I love my feathered babies :) They are spoiled. Who knows, maybe I can convince them I'm not so bad and I'll eventually be able to handle them.

Just to be on the safe side I would put them in a different room from your birds for at least 30 days.

I am, they will be in the back room away from the others.

After the quarantine, use Piper to show them you are a good flockmate. They'll learn from another Grey quicker than from a human. I've often used birds I already have to tame & train new ones. They learn from each other because ofthe flock mentality. Good luck, and thanks for helping these girls out.
