My girlfriend was given this bird around 4 years ago and they were told it was a Grey Capped Conure. I have yet to find such a thing online and I am starting to think he is not even a Conure at all.

Being someone who is pretty good with Conure identification I can tell you this IS NOT one ... Looks like a Senegal Parrot to me, but I am not 100% sure, looks kinda small, and the colors are kinda muted ... do you have any more images? Please post more images for better identification!

I would say thats a brown-headed parrot, close cousin to the senegal.
Wrong continent for conures, brown-headed parrots are african.

brown-headed parrot seems to be the winner! I'm doing some research on them now. Thanks for the help!

No problem.
Nice little birds when hand fed. Very similar to senegals, just a bit rarer in captivity.

Now, now Tex, I believe I should be awarded the title of "Awesome Parrot Identifier"!
Seeing as I recently got spanked by the resident eclectus expert:D.
