Two Lutino Lovebirds
Greetings,
I'm brand new here and made an account to help me if I have any questions and to learn more about my lovely lovebirds.
So the background story. My wife and I received two newly born Lutino love birds, Daisy and Cheep Cheep and hand-fed them until they were eating on their own. We just celebrated their first birthday few weeks ago. Although they were hand-fed, sometimes we just didnt have the time to keep interacting with them as much as we wanted. But still spent time with them daily and would feed them millet by hand at least twice a day.

My wife and I now have much more free time and want to start to tame them, since we now have lots of time to spend with them and can maintain their tameness.

They had their wings clipped when they were about 6weeks old but havent been clipped since. But I guess being in the cage, they still cant fly far. Sometimes they get out and try to fly, but cant get far.
We plan on getting them done again, as we read it helps with the taming process.

Where they are at as of right now:
So there's two of them (Daisy and Cheep Cheep), a little over a year old. They eat millet bulbs from my hands without a problem, and they also eat millet out of the palm of my hand. also perch one or sometimes two feet on my hand no problem.
Daisy bites pretty hard when i feed her millet, but i believe she only does it because she is just looking for food.
While feeding millet from my hand, sometimes they will perch on my hand, where then the other would bite the others foot or fight for a bit. Often I would have to feed both with both my hands so each get their own, or Daisy would keep scaring Cheep Cheep away.
I understand they are territorial in their cage but my messy house, I dont want them flying or going any where that I wont be able to get to them, so for now I have been feeding in the cage.

Here's a videos of pre-taming and the level of comfort they are with me right now.

So Im planning on putting a tall net around a clear area kind of like a taming room so they wont fly all over. I already have a small play set and will get a stand to work on. but should I separate them when I take them out of the cage? They hate being apart and often will try their best to go where the other is.
Thats my main concern. If im suppose to separate them during taming or not.

Thank you
