I have a 6 week old quaker who I am hand feeding. I am feeding her 3 times a day like the breeder recommended. I have noticed between feelings when she is hanging out with me when I pet her she shakes her head and tail very fast and rubs her beak and cheek on me. I don't know what she is trying to tell me... She follows me around and sits with me for hours so I know she likes me... Is she hungry, does she like the petting, does she dislike the petting? I guess I'm confused because my older quaker does not show this behavior... Please help!

That's why they're called Quakers!! They do this little quake thing and shake a little. She must like it. :)

(I sent you a message, by the way)

It sounds to me like a combination of baby Quaker begging behavior and the little one wanting to let you know she loves you. :) If she didn't like the petting, she'd probably let you know with a chomp or a squawk.

JadeC it won't let me send private messages until I have 20 public posts... I was a little confused because I did respond but I didn't read the message that said I couldn't send until I have 20 public... To answer your question I was in the marines for 6 years I was an 0311 in the infantry. I was in an antiterrorism unit... I am done now!

Cnyguy That's what I thought I just didn't want her to be hungry... My older quaker hates being petted so this is a little new to me.
