Never leave your bird unattended outside!!! I had all the cages outside and I was sitting with them. My phone died so I stepped inside , I was three feet away, on the other side of my sliding glass door.
My dog barked and I looked out to see a huge cat about to leap on my bird cage!!!!! I have a huge fenced backyard, there have never been stray cats around before!!!!
So fast!!!! I only left them for thirty seconds!!!!! Where did this car come from!!! Was it watching and waiting?;?!? It was seconds!!!!
Everyone is fine, but my heart is still racing

Yup. Predators lurk behind every bush. It's crazy!

Lucky you were right there.

Bad kitty!

We had a bit simillar situation few years ago. Limonka (my budgie, then she was my only one fid) was in her Cage on our balcony. No one was observing her, espessially no one/nothing shoud climb there. But once time when my mum wanted to take her inside, there (on the balcony) was a cat looking on Limonka!! Hopefully everything was ok. Another day she was on the balcony again. The cat was trying to climb there but fell down and we heard a cat scream[emoji23]

Predators are ever watchful for the tiniest opportunity. Many years ago I had my budgie out on my aunty’s verandah to catch some morning sun, I stepped inside for only a few moments and when I came back there was a butcherbird on his cage fixing on pulling him out through the bars, I got to him just in time! Now nobody loves butcherbirds more than me, they’re all personality with the most beautiful carolling song. But not when they wanna eat my budgie for breakfast!
