I love this little birdy so much! Little poopy bitey thing but the cuteness makes up for anything =)

When I first got him, I took him to the vet for a well bird or baby bird checkup per standard practice and he was maybe just a bit sickly. Brought him back for a follow up and after checking some stool samples we got him on some antibiotics for a slight infection. The next follow up, the infection was cleared up but the vet still didn't like some of his bloodwork so yet AGAIN I took him back. Finally after I guess about $900 in vet visits, I got the call I had been hoping for. ALL CLEAR! So now he's out of the woods and I can worry a bit less about the fid and the vet bills. Wow, those things add up fast =(

But regardless of any vet bills, I've been doing a pretty good job of spoiling him and he seems to really enjoy his home. Such a little sweetie =) He really enjoys being on his play top (when he's not on my shoulder) and I think I've got him set up pretty well.

Here he's in his drain fitting, hahah. Bought that for my tiel but he would never go near the thing so I stashed it under the cage for a while. Nacho took a while to warm up to it but he eventually did play in there and he discovered that being in there changes the sound of his voice...

This weekend, I picked up a few new things for him that he really seems to like. Got him a piece of pipe to turn his drain fitting into a "scream tube" he does like to go in and make his calls, hahah.

He was also jumping into his water dish for a bath sometimes, so I picked up a nice white bathtub just his size ;) I was surprised that he went to investigate immediately when I gave it to him. About a half hour later he actually jumped in a played around a bit.

Also I had removed the tall rod from the playtop because it seemed in the way and he had no interest in it, but yesterday I put it back and it's a new favorite. I need to find the right hanging toy to put on the hook but he seems pretty happy with it as it is. He's up and down that thing and I've even seen him hanging upside-down from the top one time. Silly bird!

He sure stays busy on his playtop, going from one activity to the next, and the next, and the next, lol! He's such a playful happy little guy to have around :smile015::smile015::smile015:

Also a quick video of him checking out the tub immediately after I gave it to him. He's not usually that brave =)

Awesome news there Wade that the little Nacho Dude is 100% health wise :D.

Ya vet bills......they can really drain you..I remember Smokeys' bill when she passed away, after xrays and meds etc was $850.
Even Amys' wellness/blood work/DNA was close to 300...we're in the wrong business Brother .

How big is Nacho, compared to Dusty? By the pics/video it looks like Nach is bigger.

Its great he grooves on all the goodies you offer him to play with..I love the tube thingie lol.
I STILL wanna rub my nose on his belly! Love his coloring and he looks so soft.

More pictures buddy!

Great to see your little fella and good to hear that all is well now, well except your wallet that is, the joys of parronthood?

Suggestion: How about a boing for that hook?

Nacho still weighs almost exactly what Dusty did! Dusty usually weighed in right around 86 grams and Nacho is real consistent at 88. But he's a bit fluffier so he does look a bit bigger. Those two are different birds for sure, but it's hard to describe. I guess I'd say Dusty was a bit more "perky" but that may just be due to the fact that he wasn't clipped. Speaking of which... I had a little mini nightmare the other night about Nacho flying away so I'm probably going to keep him clipped for good. Some insurance that he will be safe from the wild and it will cut down on my anxiety a bit.

A boing sounds like a good idea, but he already has two inside his cage, hahah. I was thinking of maybe a swing or some kind of ribbon thing with lots of color. I tried one of his most ignored toys to see if the new location would make a difference. It was promptly ignored! Well, give it some time, we'll see...

Here's a shot of him inside his little house. Here you can see the boings stretching across the cage in two directions. He seems to like them and the green one with all the bends in it is really bouncy. Also I got one of the small phone books they deliver these days and tore it in half to fit between the cross bars in his roof. He doesn't go crazy on them, but he does enjoy them a bit. They're wearing down slowly.
