I just got this today at K-mart, I saw it advertised on tv once, it's a bird house that attaches to the window, and you can see in, but they can't see you because of a 2-way mirror. I hope I get chickadees, but even if I get a wasp nest I'll be happy :) I'm pro-wasp. Has anyone ever used this birdhouse????

Chris, I can't see a picture, but I DO know exactly which nest box/birdhouse you are talking about. :D Let us know who inhabits it, ok?

I don't EVER allow wasps to take over any of my next boxes or bat houses because they keep the songbirds (and bats) out. :( I'm pro insect, I even buy lady bugs, praying mantis and lacewings, but I don't do wasps. :54:

Yes please do let me know if it works...I saw it on tv and go hummmm....even the nest boxes I have in my backyard it took years before one was used. Wrens had babies in one last year....bought more boxes this year...

I am excited to hear if it works as well! I thought that was so neat when I saw it on TV:)

I remember seeing something similar- I think it was the same idea, but it was larger and a feeder rather than a nest box. It sounds awesome though! Keep us posted for sure, I'm excited to see what moves in :)

I put up a small decorative birdhouse in the shape of a bee on my front porch, and a family if chickadees raised 4 chicks right in front of me, so I'm hoping ill get some action. Lol I know what you're saying about the wasps, but if I get no birds, wasp nests are pretty fascinating as well :)

I find wasp nest fascinating too but since I work in my garden a lot, that won't be wise to have around.....lol

If I had a wasp nest anywhere near my house.. I'd either never leave, or never come back!! Hah.
Never been stung by a bee/wasp, but anything that flies and bites/stings is terrifying to me! We once had a horse fly follow us out almost 50 MILES TO SEA just to chew on our ankles.. it was awful hah.

Maybe from a distance.
With a beekeepers suit.
and a glass wall.
and bug spray.. just in case.

Oh that sounds really cool Chris! I also would love to hear 'what' moves in. :) Hopefully someone uses it this season and you won't have to wait too long.
A couple years ago I had a hummingbird nest in our tree. We saw eggs, then babies... In order to see the eggs when the mom wasn't there, we had to pull the branch down a bit, but careful when releasing it not to "fling" the nest and eggs out haha the mom would have been furious at us humans! :11:
