So this morning I was sleeping through the usual ruckus of Jasper and Jellibeen and I began to hear a foreign chirp and whistle. When I woke up, I saw this beauty! He was sitting in his cage with a card taped to it! I'm so excited!

Still very shy and not too sure, but I am going to begin training after his adjustment period. He is fully flighted and not yet tame, but that's where love and patience comes in! Although I am wondering if I should clip his wings for now so I can tame him...?

I give my husband props for sneaking a 'tiel in the house without waking me up!

If the picture cannot be seen, I can try a different method of posting a picture.

Ahh, Merlin is beautiful! What a great Valentine's present:)

Awww, what a sweet hubby you've got!! Cute baby!

I am cautious to venture a comment about clipping his wings because I don't clip wings (my Percy can't fly and Jack very seldom wants to step out of his castle so there's no need). I'm sure someone with more experience with taming will offer some advice.

Absolutely perfect :)

Such beautiful gift! Personally, I prefer to clip their wings whilst going through the taming process. That way when they are tame you can make a decision about whether to let the wings grow out or not :) Good luck!
