Poppy has been with me for three years, you'd think she'd know me with or without glasses. She throws a fit when I'm not wearing glasses. Today I picked up a new prescription, the frames are a lot different than my last pair. She had a complete meltdown and refused to let me bring her stand into the bird room. When she was calmer and back in her cage I brought her, cage and all into the room. She went to the floor of her cage and fished around for the right cover, she climbed up to her swing and completely covered herself. You'll have to take my word she was under the paper.

She was so upset when I got close enough to take a photo she dropped her makeshift tarp. Complete contempt!

Poor, poor Poppy...mommy you must not change the shape of your eyes. LOL such a funny white fluff.

Well, geeeeeeeeeeez, imagine how YOU'D feel if your BIRD suddenly had weird new growths on and around its eyeballs!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mia culpa! I am at fault here! I may not get a Poppy hug for a very long time. She's showing me her mad face even while she's playing. Or maybe she's building a weapon.

Awww, tell poor Poppy that Auntie Terry is prepping her room for a visit until she feels better:)

I am dying at her hiding under her paper! And I definitely vote weapon building. The bright side is that the glasses may not be a problem after the weapon is ready:)

Hahahahahahaha! Oh, this is high comedy! Especially when she hides under the paper! Hilarity! And her angry face! ROTFL!!! It's just so... poofy!

But it's hard to judge the extent of her over-reaction without some photographic evidence, my friend. Yup! We'll need to see you in these new glasses of yours!

Doc, you must be kidding? After Poppy's reaction?

Poor poor Poppy. How dare you get new frames without consulting her! Haha

What I really want to know is what did Harry say!?

Hahaha, Harry is never without an opinion, her reaction was funny and typical. She didn't appear to notice at first, she went straight to her play top with Sweet Pea and Sammy when I let her out. After a few minutes she yelled, "Cameron! C'mere!" I told her, "No". She started doing her drill sergeant stomp, most birds can't stomp but Harry can, back and forth she went, face feathers fluffed, then she changed her, "C'mere" to "C'meeee-er" then to, "Cammmmrunnn c'maarrrre!" Harry is a skilled flier, she could have flown to me any time, calling me to her is a power thing. When Harry gets her feathers ruffled resistance is futile so eventually I did as I was told. She peered at me with her head cocked to the side for a bit then jumped to my shoulder, she examined the glasses, grabbed the ear piece right over my ear and gave the glasses a long, violent shake. An encounter of this nature with my Harry can go south fast, my job is to stand still and not blink, Harry's job is to terrorize without actually inflicting bodily harm. When she finished her inspection and nerve test, she head butted me in the cheek to let me know I passed the test and could keep the glasses.

Sweet Sammy, bless him, all he had to say was, "Gimme a kiss"!

Awww, so glad you passed the Harry and Sammy test! What did Baby W say? Does he think they are Good Good Good? Does Sweet Pea care at all?

Gee Allee, next time you will take Poppy to the optometry office and make sure to choose an approved frame. In fact, you may have to just return them to avoid her wrath!

That's hilarious Allee. I also had to laugh at our friend Stephen's request to put you on the spot check out your new frames! I agree :D.

I will echo the sentiment of wishing to see these new frames (on you!) LOL.

Scott is right Poppy is one peeved 'too because she didn't get any input on the choice of frames. That would be one interesting appointment at the opticians with a 'too, more of a comedy sketch? You would definitely know which ones she liked as she is nothing less than honest, bless her fluffy butt. For goodness sake do not go down the hair dye route - it would be pure anarchy in your house. Love the pics of our fav girl and hope she gets over it soon?

Thank goodness Plum pays no heed to glasses being worn but if they are sitting on the table that's different as they make a very good missile!

Ohhh Harry lol. I'm glad you got the head but of approval! Harry stories make me laugh til my ribs hurt. I love her personality.

ROFLMAO! That's a 'too for ya. They have strong opinions and they are oh, so willing to share them. Covering herself with the paper is absolutely hysterical. Thank goodness that Rocky doesn't care what glasses I'm wearing or if I'm wearing any, but Clyde ... well, he's another story. He would be right there with Poppy having one fit after another. When I get new ones, they have to look very much like the old ones or I am in for it.

This is too funny. This happened a few months ago to us when my wife dyed her hair (she's naturally a brunette) and she dyed it red. When she went to see Tiki after her shower he lost his little mind. Wings out, crest up, screeching and flapping. He fluttered down to the bottom of the cage and went into his "karate" pose (where he holds his wings out and one foot up like Daniel in crane stance from Karate Kid) until he decided to come out on his own and see mommy. :white1:
