Hi everyone!

I started a thread last week in the new members forum, and I just wanted to share some pictures of my baby girl.

Yes she has been DNA tested and she is a girl even though she likes to tell herself shes a "Good boy".

She has had a rough past being only 6 and already having 12 homes, we've been working in trusting each other and I've made leaps and bounds. She did have a accident straight out of the egg so my guess is the extra special care in feeding is why shes jumped so many homes.

She just had her recheck at the vet and well I stand corrected me she is a Orange winged Amazon lol She is finally growing back her feathers and starting to show her brilliant colors. Also she is finally at a healthy weight as she was underweight when I brought her home.

I also included a picture of her beak, she can eat her pellets normal but I make a soft mash for her to assure she is eating enough. She loves veggies and fruits too

Thank you for looking at my pretty girl :green:

And my pieces are sideways:33:

WOW!

12 homes?????????????????????????????

I am thrilled that she finally landed in the lap of love and luxury.

I am going to LOVE following her story.

I DO have an active imagination, but I swear... in those eyes, I think I see the flicker of hope springing eternal... as if to say "is this my home, finally? REALLY?"

Yes 12 homes 😢 it's so sad since shes such a sweet girl. Once my mom told me about her I immediately went to see her and we fell in love with each other and I am so happy to provide her forever home ❤

I think your right, I see that hope in her eyes too! She grows more comfortable every day.

Wow! Such a beautiful young girl! Thank you for bringing her home! The poor baby with a deformed beak :52: Is that from a birth defect??
I am confident she is in very capable hands :)

Thank you Jim!

From my understanding yes it's a birth defect. I did have on of her previous owners tell me she fell when she was super young (he is um shall I say names I shouldn't say) I tracked back to the original breeder and she was pretty happy to see Shasta and said she hatched that way.

Thank you everyone for all of your kind words about Shasta :green:

I read this forum for a month before I joined and I knew I found the right place to ask questions and learn how to give her the best life possible.

Thank you Scott but to be honest as soon as I seen her it was a no brainer for me! I do cherish the special time we share with feeding, it's fun to have 2 plates at dinner time:D
