Let me tell you about Merlin my 35 year old Ele Sulphur Crested Cockatoo. He was my life he looked after me and was my pal. Merlin left our world this past January with no warning...he sounded funny late one evening and passed at the vets office 10am the next morning.

I have a seizure condition and Merlin always knew before I was going to be ill and would jump on the bed with his head next to mine until I felt better. I was told this since I was out of it and just remembered waking up with Merlin there. He was always there. I was bedridden with a bad back last year and I could hear Merlin hopping up the stairs and the clicking of his feet on the wood floor enroute to the bedroom this little guy all one pound pushed the door open walked in and jumped on the bed and stayed with me.

We had his body cremated and the vet made a casting of his feet. I greet and close the day with a hello and goodnight to my Mer. Rainbow Bridge still gets me through those down times. I would enclose a pic but I'm not sure how it works.

Oh! I'm so, so sorry to hear of Merlin's passing! That must have been a heart wrenching blow to you! Still, you were so fortunate to have had Merlin in your life and been able to share such a bond with him.

Are you considering befriending another parrot? :)

I'm so sorry for your loss, our feathered friends... well as much as they need us, I think we need them too. I really feel for you, again, sorry for your loss. xx

You always hear stories of amazing dog companions...but this one takes the cake! No pic needed, I can see Merlin in my mind pushing open the bedroom door...a bit winded from his stair climb!

He is on Rainbow Bridge waiting for you, and from the sound of him probably chosen a seat on top of Angel's head so he can keep a good eye out! (Angel is a Rottweiler I lost a few years ago, best friend I ever had)

Packs all the more punch in so small a package...one pound, indeed! Thank you so much for sharing your friend with us, so sorry for your loss!

So very sorry for your loss... They fill up our hearts, and they leave a huge hole when they are gone :(

Im so very sorry for your loss. He sounds like a special little guy. No words can express how sorry I am.

very sorry for your loss. he is waiting on the other side!

that is a beautiful image of love and friendship. i'm sorry that you lost your friend so unexpectedly. I hope having your bird cremated and being able to 'bring him home' was some comfort to you. (I have two of my pets cremains right in my living room, on a shelf, with their own memorial displays, so they always feel like they are with me where they belong.)

If the picture is on your computer then all you need to do is hit the "go advanced" button at the bottom of the comment box. Then hit the little paperclip icon next to the white smiley face icon and it will take you to another screen. Once there hit "choose file". Next browse and find where you have the picture stored (I tend to save them to my desktop so they are easy to find). Then upload the picture and post the whole thing with a comment.
